Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday,October 28th,stated that, 866 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 950 693.

To date, 8223 deaths by coronavirus (5 belong to the day) have been reported, and 4378(261- ) active cases of which 4262(97.4%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 1123(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 937 955(98.7%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 13 032patients remain in hospital admission, 6925 suspicious and 1729 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed 59 belong to the capital, 57 of them native and 2 from abroad. 6596(22.9%) tests samples were tested for a positivity of 1.1%.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased to a 63.6 %(1369), placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros, Lisa and Habana del Este(7),Diez de Octubre and Playa(5), Arroyo Naranjo and Guanabacoa(4),Centro Habana, Habana Vieja and Plaza de la Revolución(3),San Miguel del Padrón, Cotorro and  Cerro and Regla(2), Marianao(1).

24 426testswere studied for Covid- 19,866 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 473 263 analyzed samples of which 949 689 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases, 846 (97.7%) people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 938 702(97.7%) ,18(0.7%)with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 874 and 2 with unknown source of infection.

There were 848(48- ) native cases this Thursday and 18 imported of which 441(50.9%) female and 425(49.1%) male cases.

116 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 46 critical and 70 seriously ill. 

This Thursday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 14.2 %( 123), for a total of 130 889, which represents a 13.8% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 866 confirmed cases, 158 were under 20 years of age; 235 between 20 and 39; 256 between 40 and 59 and 217, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 28th, 2021 is 0.86% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.03% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
