Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 27th,stated that, 900 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 949 747.

To date, 8219 deaths by coronavirus (9 belong to the day) have been reported, and 4639 active cases of which 4516 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 1100(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 936 832(98.6%) medical or epidemiological discharges.13 905 patients remain in hospital admission, 7589 suspicious and 1677 under medical surveillance.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased to 67.8% (1449) placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country. There were reported 61 cases in the province, all of them native.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Habana del Este (8), Boyeros (7), La Lisa, Centro Habana (5), Arroyo Naranjo and Playa,(5),Diez de Octubre, Guanabacoa and Cerro(4), Habana Vieja and Marianao(3),  Plaza de la Revolución, San Miguel del Padrón, Cotorro and Regla(2).

23473 tests were studied for Covid- 19,900 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 449 263 analyzed samples of which 949 747 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases, 893 people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 937 856, 4(0.5%) with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 856 and 3 with unknown source of infection.

There were 896 native cases this Wednesday and 4 imported of which 465(51.6%) female and 435(48.4%) male cases.

123 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 48 critical and 75 seriously ill. 

This Wednesday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 10.9% (78), for a total of 130 766, which represents a 13.8% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 900 confirmed cases, 155 were under 20 years of age; 173 between 20 and 39; 306 between 40 and 59 and 266, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 27th, 2021 is 0.87% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.03% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
