The intervention with Heberferon in the Cuban Protocol of action against Covid-19 allowed shortening the medical discharge from 14 to 9, and currently to seven days.

Heberferon is the pharmaceutical combination of recombinant human Alpha 2b and Gamma interferons.

The Esperanza Clinic Study confirmed the superiority of Heberferon in achieving negativization of SARS-COV 2  4 days after treatment in more than the 70% of patients with Covid-19, informed on Twitter the Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology,CIGB.

Due to the results and its antiviral and inmunomodulatory properties, it was approved to be included as the first treatment option in the National Action Protocol established the Ministry of Public Health,MINSAP.

The CIGB emphasized that the introduction of Heberferon in the Cuban protocol against Covid-19 made it posible to shorten the medical discharge time from 14 to 9 days, and currently to 7 days after being treated with the product.

It was also explained that since the first decade of this century it has been known that the combination of Alpha and Gamma interferons could be very effective against Coronavirus.
