Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 13th, stated that, 2638 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 923 966.

To date,7994 deaths by coronavirus (38 belong to the day) have been reported, and 11 591 active cases of which 11 299 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 4246(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 909 042(97.8%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 31 319 patients remain in hospital admission, 17 169 suspicious and 2559 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 148 belong to the capital, 147 natives of them native and 1 imported. We regret 3 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipalities of Guanabacoa, Regla and Playa.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased to 187.4% placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (19), Diez de Octubre (17), Habana del Este (13), Playa (12), Arroyo Naranjo and La Lisa (11), Guanabacoa, Centro Habana and Cerro (10), Plaza de la Revolución and San Miguel del Padrón (9), Marianao (6), Cotorro (5), Regla (4) and Habana Vieja (2).

29 775 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 2364 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 078 932 analyzed samples of which 928 684 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,2359 people were contacts of confirmed cases 4 with source of infection from abroad and 1 with unknown source of infection.

There were 2360 native cases this Wednesday and 4 were imported of which 1262 female and 1102 male cases.

292 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 89 critical and 203 seriously ill. 

This Wednesday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 5.5%(129), for a total of 128 905, which represents a 13.9% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 2364 confirmed cases, 516500 were under 20 years of age; 524 between 20 and 39; 735 between 40 and 59 and 585, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 13th, 2021 is 0.86% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
