Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 10th, stated that, 2945 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 921 328.

To date,7891 deaths by coronavirus (40 belong to the day) have been reported, and 16 975 active cases of which 16 144 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 3736(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 897 236(97.3%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 40 061 patients remain in hospital admission, 21 085 suspicious and 2832 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 193 belong to the capital, 187 of them native and 6 imported. We regret 1 casualty by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipality of La Lisa.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased, placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (21), Diez de Octubre (20), Habana del Este and Playa (16), Centro Habana and Habana Vieja(13),Arroyo Naranjo, Cerro, Plaza de la Revolución and La Lisa (12), Guanabacoa and Marianao(11), San Miguel del Padrón (10), Cotorro (9), and Regla (5).

32 049 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 2945 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 9 994 695 analyzed samples of which 921 328 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,2930(99.8%) people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 905 970; 11(0.3%) with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 717 and 5 with unknown source of infection.

There were 2935 native cases this Sunday and 10 were imported of which 1580 female and 1365 male cases.

326 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 92 critical and 234 seriously ill. 

This Sunday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 6.7%(199), for a total of 128 363, which represents a 14.0% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 2945 confirmed cases, 616 were under 20 years of age; 707 between 20 and 39; 886 between 40 and 59 and 736, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 10th, 2021 is 0.86% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
