Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 6th, stated that, 3833 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 907 491.

To date,7742 deaths by coronavirus (39 belong to the day) have been reported, and 20 148 active cases of which 19 821with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 4530(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 879 994(96.9%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 48 818 patients remained in hospital admission, 25 948 suspicious and 2722 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 238(13-) belong to the capital, of them 237 are native and 1 imported. We regret 3 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipalities of Playa (2 deaths) and Playa (1 death).

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased, placing the capital in fortieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (24), Diez de Octubre (21), Playa (19), Cerro, Marianao and Arroyo Naranjo (18), Habana del Este (17), Plaza de la Revolución (16), La Lisa and Guanabacoa (15), Centro Habana (14), Cotorro and San Miguel del Padrón (12), Habana Vieja (11) and Regla (7).

42 344 tests were studied for Covid- 19,3833 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 9 845 683 analyzed samples of which 907 941 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,3817(247+) (99.6%) people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 896 221(98.7%); 15(0.4%) with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 690(1.3%) and 31(0.03%) with unknown source of infection.

There were 3818 native cases this Wednesday and 15 were imported of which 2059(53.7%) female and 1774(46.3%) male cases.

327 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 98 critical and 229 seriously ill. 

This Wednesday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 6.3%(242), for a total of 127 646 which represents 14.1% of the confirmed cases to date.

Of the 3833 confirmed cases, 715 were under 20 years of age; 914 between 20 and 39; 1262 between 40 and 59 and 942, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 6th, 2021 is 0.85% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
