National holiday October 10th will be celebrated by the Cuban workers next Monday 11th, according to what was informed by the Ministry of Work and Social Security (MTSS).

According to article 94 of Law 116 of the Code of Work, and taking into account that this historical date this year is Sunday, the Ministry of Work and Social Security (MTSS) pointed out that the holiday will be changed from Sunday 10th to Monday October 11th.

Likewise, the organism announced that it corresponds to apply double payment per hours worked to all workers on duty this Sunday 10th, according to salary treatment established on the article 111 of the Code of Work.

It was announced that on Monday 11th all labor activities will cease, except for those related to sugar cane harvest and other urgent agricultural activities, indispensable loading and unloading activities, industries of continuous production processes, transport services and its indispensable technical assurance. 

The MTSS emphasized that hospital and care centers, pharmacies, fuel distribution centers, mortuary services, tourist centers, lodging services, radio and TV broadcasting, fishing activities and some other authorized by the law in which cases it will be compensated with the payment corresponding to one day´s work.

As for workers enjoying their paid annual holidays, un-paid leaves, social security subsidies and other salary guarantees provided by law, they will continue to receive the treatment provided by law, concluded the Ministry.
