Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 3rd, stated that, 4272 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 895 719.

To date,7618 deaths by coronavirus (38 belong to the day) have been reported, and 23 056 active cases of which 22 699 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 5010(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 864 988(96.5%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 55 656 patients remained in hospital admission, 29 523 suspicious and 3077 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 292 belong to the capital, of them 291 are native and 1 imported. We regret 2 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipalities of Playa and Boyeros (1 death).

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased, placing the capital in fortieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (28), Arroyo Naranjo (27), Habana del Este (25), Diez de Octubre (26), Playa and Cerro (23), Plaza de la Revolución (21), Marianao and Centro Habana (20), Guanabacoa (17), La Lisa (16), Habana Vieja (15), San Miguel del Padrón (13), Cotorro (10), and Regla (8).

40 644 tests were studied for Covid- 19,3833 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 9 731 983 analyzed samples of which 895 719 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,4254 people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 883 999; 10 with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 663 and 6 with unknown source of infection.

There were 4260 native cases this Sunday and 12 were imported of which 2271 female and 2001 male cases.

This Sunday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 3.8%(161), for a total of 127 272 which represents 14.2% of the confirmed cases to date.

Of the 4272 confirmed cases,889 were under 20 years of age; 1034 between 20 and 39; 1323 between 40 and 59 and 1026, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in October 3rd, 2021 is 0.85% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
