The community of Chenard-Caravallo in the People´s Council of San Francisco de Paula in the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón, is living a transformation process of its spaces.

It was affirmed by Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, during a check-up visit to the place accompanied by the local authorities.

At the beginning of the meeting the municipal authorities presented a report on the constructive actions that are being executed, such as the rehabilitation of roads, the improvement of the water supply, the water drainage and drainage collectors.

Ángel Pérez, intendent of the place, explained that 16 work started, nine of them are in progress and 34 are on hold.

The Sistema de Atención a la Familia(SAT) (Families Care System) Tres Palmas will also be object of renovation.

Among the actions carried out it stand the rehabilitation of a school, the Tres Palmas SAT, two doctor´s offices, a sport center, the aqueduct network; a pharmacy and a sport area was built. There were also repaired a local playground and some bus stops.

San Francisco de Paula market will suffer a total transformation which will include a sales spot of the Caribe chain store due to requests done by the residents.

The need of improved the pavement of roads was another request of the inhabitants of the community which complaint about the lack of maintenance of roads and the increasing in the amount of water outlets.

39 houses were legalized for their inhabitants, placed in an illegal settlement which was one of the most important actions due to the high impact it has in the transformation of the material environment of the beneficiaries with positive consequences on their spiritual world.

It was stated during the visit the great importance it has the straight dialogue between the community and the local authorities and for the local authorities to be concerned about the community´s needs. 

The local authorities explained the important work of supporting elders, children with specific needs and mothers with three or more children, which is the main axe of the People´s Council.

A significant moment during the visit was the visit of the member of the People´s Power National Assembly to Finca La Vigía, which was the official residency of the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway for 21 years. There Iríbar, shared with the staff that work in the facility, nowadays a museum and exchanged ideas that might help to improve and enhance the splendor of this building, cultural heritage of the city.
