Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, October 1st, stated that, 4873 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 887 350.

To date,7534 deaths by coronavirus (48 belong to the day) have been reported, and 25 788 active cases of which 25 436 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 6195(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 853 776(96.2%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 68 436 people are hospital admitted, of them, 34 986 suspicious and 2764 under medical surveillance.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 290 belong to the capital, of them 288 are native and 2 imported. We regret 4 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital, in the municipalities of Arroyo Naranjo (2 deaths), Plaza de la Revolución and Cerro (1 death).

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants has decreased to a 293.6%, placing the capital in fortieth position in the country.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (31), Diez de Octubre and Arroyo Naranjo (30), Habana del Este (27), Playa (24),  Plaza de la Revolución and Cerro (23), Guanabacoa (19), Cotorro (18), La Lisa(15), San Miguel del Padrón(14), Centro Habana (12), Regla (8), Habana Vieja and   Marianao(7).

45 552 tests were studied for Covid- 19,4873were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 9 648 807 analyzed samples of which 887 350(9.2%) were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,4847 people were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 875 666(98.7%); 22(0.4%) with source of infection from abroad for a total of 11 613(1.3%) and 4(0.1%) with unknown source of infection.

There were 4851 native cases this Friday and 22 were imported of which 2609(53.5%) female and 2264(46.5%) male cases.

This Friday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 3.7%(179), for a total of 126 685 which represents 14.3% of the confirmed cases to date.

Of the 4873 confirmed cases, 976 were under 20 years of age; 1157 between 20 and 39; 1483 between 40 and 59 and 1257, over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in October 1st , 2021 is 0.85% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.04% for the world and the 2.46 % for the Americas region.
