The national event for the starting of the school year in secondary and higher education will take place next October 4th, in the polytechnic school Carlos Rafael Rodríguez in Old Havana.

It is foreseen that the maximum authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government will attend and a representation of the Ministry of Education and the school´s staff.

According to what Gladys Cuevas, deputy director of Education in the territory, referred, the school year 2020-2021 will re-open with the attendance of the students from the terminal grades of high school, pre-university and polytechnic schools due to these students conform the first pediatric group that completed the vaccination scheme.

The scholar center, named after the prestigious Cuban politician and economist Carlos Rafael Rodríguez, was inaugurated last Friday September 17th, with the attendance of Luis Antonio Torrez Iríbar , First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Havana, Reinaldo García Zapata , Governor of Havana and Ena Elsa Velázquez, Minister of Education of the Republic of Cuba.

According to a report of Habana Radio, the renewed facility, located at 51, Monte Street, is a response to the urgent need of endorsing the formation of technical careers such as Accountancy, and Documental Management, among others. So that, this center is added to the amount of educational centers of the city that have been restored or inaugurated by Office of the Historian of the City in the last years.
