Havana´s Science and Technology Park increases its business portfolio

According to information provided by Rafael Luis Torralbas Ezpeleta, president of the PCT, to the Cuban News Agency most of the projects promoted there belong to the state sector with 60 proposals, 6 are linked to foreign companies and 12 individuals from the private sector.

The Scientific Technological Park(PCT), located at the University of Computing Sciences(UCI), develops 23 incubation projects and other private initiatives associated with the electronic commerce, the design and manufacture of unmanned vehicles(drones) and solutions for the biotechnological industry it was informed to the press.

During the presentation of the PCT at the Forum of Entrepreneurs and Leaders in Information Technologies (FELTI 2021), the success of the software of one the prototypes of high performance pulmonary ventilators developed by Combiomed, the Cuban company in charge of producing medical equipment, which is currently in the testing phase, was revealed.

As part of the development policy, added the ACN, the Havana PCT is committed to the training of its professionals for which a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Association of Technological Parks of Spain, in addition to the established synergies between the UCI and other nearby High Education centers, contribution to the generation of innovative products and services of a high added value, said the president of the commercial company.

The creation of institutions of this kind in Cuba, whose legal basis dates from January 2020, aims to serve as a bridge between the academic and the business world, which demands the scientific knowledge generated in the centers of High Studies.
