Federico Edelmann y Pinto dies.

His vocation for painting led him to study at the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, where he won several awards. He traveled to the United States and devoted himself to making illustrations for a large publishing house in that country. He also worked as a school teacher. He studied assiduously in museums and began to acquire a vast aesthetic culture that he perfected until the end of his life. He managed to create the Annual Salon of Fine Arts for the first time in Cuba, which was inaugurated on February 25, 1916. He also founded the Association of Painters and Sculptors of Cuba. Despite the many obstacles he had to face over the years, he organized annual salons that were always artistic and social events.
