Maritime transportation will be resumed in the municipality of Regla

As of September 12th, the Regla boat service will resume, covering the route from old Havana, Regla and to Casablanca, sailing the waters of the Bay of Havana.

According to information from the General Directorate of Transport of Habana, published on its Telegram account, these routes are resumed, taking into account the measures for the confrontation with Covid- 19 adopted in the public transportation of passengers, among them, the limitation of 50 passengers per trip, maintaining the physical distancing established inside the boat and the restrictions on the service schedule, as established for the rest of the transportation.

The service will begin at 5:00 a.m. with departure from the Emboque de Regla and will end up with the departure from the same Emboque at 7:20 p.m. with the exception of Sunday 12th that will begin at 6:00 a.m. from the Emboque de Regla and another one to Casablanca.

History tells that since the 19th century, to transport the passengers by sea, it became common to use sailing boats and oars that facilitated the passage to Regla, Casablanca and Havana, known as “guadaños”.

The transport of boats has remained as one of the symbols of transportation between Regla, Casablanca and Havana and also identifies the municipality of Regla.
