Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, September 6th, stated that, 7771 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 704 675.

To date, 5881 deaths by coronavirus (93 belong to the day) have been reported, and 38 035(5.4%) active cases of which 37 608(98.8%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 7600 (belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 660 702(93.7%) medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 114 critical patients and 283 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 673 belong to the capital, of them 670 are native and 3 imported. We regret 7 casualties by Coronavirus in the capital: Regla, Guanabacoa, Diez de Octubre,Habana del Este,Cerro,Marianao y San Miguel del Padrón.

Dr. Durán informed that in the last 15 days, a decrease in the incidence rate per 100 000 inhabitants to a 545.62% has been reported, placing the capital in thirtieth position in the country. 

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros(68), Diez de Octubre(63), Habana del Este(62), Arroyo Naranjo (58), Marianao(54), Centro Habana (51),La Lisa(50), Guanabacoa(49),  Cerro(46),Playa(45), Plaza de la Revolución(35),Cotorro(30), San Miguel del Padrón (29),  Habana Vieja(25), and Regla,16.

54 636 test were studied for Covid- 19, with a result of 7771 positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 8 332 630 analyzed samples of which 704 675(8.5%) were positive.

7754(99.7%) cases were contacts of confirmed cases accumulating 693 339(98.4%); 6 (0.1%) with source of infection abroad for a total of 11 193(1.6%), 11 of them (0.1%) have an unknown source of infection.

There were 7765 native cases this Wednesday and 6 were imported of which 4140(53.3%) female and 3631(46.4%) male cases.

This Monday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to a 3.7 %( 290), for a total of 120 063203 which represents 17% of the confirmed cases to date. According to this indicator, he pointed out that the trend to the decrease evidences the severity of the clinic chart presented by the new strains, since symptoms appear from the beginning of the disease.

Of the 7771 confirmed cases, 1873 were under 20 years of age; 1903 between 20 and 39; 2213 between 40 and 59 and 1782, over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in September 6th, 2021 is 0.83% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.07% for the world and the 2.49 % for the Americas region.
