As reported by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People ( Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos)on its Twitter account, among the donated resources are gloves, medicines, disposable syringes, masks and lung ventilators.

On Friday, August 28th, a plane from the European country arrived in Havana with about 200 cubic meters of humanitarian aid.

The cargo includes generic medicines, lung ventilators, masks , gloves, health supplies and rapid tests for the detection of the SARS-COV 2(main agent that causes Covid-19 disease), donated by organizations and individuals from Italy, Spain, France and Cubans living in European countries.

The resources will be mainly destined to hospitals in the provinces of Havana and Matanzas (both in the western pt of the country), Cienfuegos and Ciego de Ávila (center of the country), Holguín, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo(eastern region of the country).

The Agency for Economic Exchange with Cuba was the promoter and main coordinator of the initiative, which was joined by the Confederación General Italiana del Trabajo among other organizations.

Last Thursday, Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodríguez, thanked the solidarity contribution at a time when the island is going through a complex situation due to the third outbreak of Covid-19 and the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States to Cuba for almost six decades.
