The Organizing Committee of the Havana Theater Festival, event that will be celebrated in the Cuban capital from October 23rd to 31st, delivered information about the selection of 22 international performances that will be included in the program, this 2021.

According to an official note, the organizing board of the 19th edition of the event, reviewed and evaluated 268 applications presented by scenic groups from different countries, of which 22 were selected as part of the visual proposal to be enjoyed from virtual spaces, taking into account the epidemiological situation that affects our country and the world.

To be more specific, most of the plays that were seen and taken in consideration were highly appreciated, but many of them, in an essential way, depended on direct contact with the audience, and for that reason they were not considered to be part of the exhibition.

Among the chosen works it worth mentioning the ones from Germany, Spain, Uruguay, Brazil and Chile.

It worth to highlight the staging: La Pajarera: Gestos femeninos de Resistencia ( The Birdcage: Female Gestures of Resistance), a Canadian-Colombian production from director Ariane Denault; Amor Oscuro(Dark Love), from director Jesús Arbués of Viridiana Centro de Producción Teatral de España group.
