The Temporary Working Team for prevention and control of Covid-19 in Havana, follow –up this Monday the oxygen availability in hospitals and the behavior of the main indicators of the pandemic at the end of this Sunday.

Dr. Emilio Delgado Iznaga, provincial Director of Health, restated that yesterday a major effort was made to provide oxygen treatment to all the patients who need it, in a joint task carried out by the health system, member of the Communist Party of Cuba and the City’s Government, the Ministry of Industries, member of FAR and MININT, among other institutions.

The board acknowledged also the cooperation provided by non-state workers in order to figure out a solution through innovation, including 3D printing of devices that allow to apply oxygen to two people at the same time; effort that will be taken in consideration in the middle of this extremely hard situation created by a breakage in the oxygen processing plant. 

The highest authorities of the capital reiterated the demand for a strict control of the oxygen tanks from their transfer to their location in hospitals, as well as their maximum use.

Epidemiological update:

This Sunday 11 972 test were analyzed and there were 1072 Covid-19 positive tests, 1068 of them native and all of them with known infection source.

The four imported cases were Cubans coming from Unites States (2 of them), Spain and Panama. One of the patients was detected while arriving and the others, five days later.

The 15 municipalities had incidences: Boyeros(140), Diez de Octubre(127), La Lisa(124),Arroyo Naranjo(111), La Habana del Este(97), Playa(75),Marianao(69),La Habana Vieja(64),entro Habana(56),Guanabacoa(49),Plaza de la Revolución(46), San Miguel del Padrón(40), Regla(28), Cerro ( 25) y Cotorro, 21.

From the beginning of the pandemic there are 2 692 261 studies accumulated and 136 539 positives cases for a 5.1% positivity; incidence rate is 6393.5 per 100 000 inhabitants.

35 events remain actives , seven of them are institutional and 3179 focus control, showing a bigger presence in La Lisa(428), Diez de Octubre(384), Marianao(330),Arroyo Naranjo(286),Cerro(285) and Boyeros, 261.

178 Covid-19 confirmed children were admitted in hospitals yesterday, 20 of them under a year of age for a total of 581, 91 of this pediatric patients are in breastfeeding stage.

22 pregnant women were also admitted in care centers and a confirmed breastfeeding mother, for a total of 141 and 16 respectively, with seven of them reported of

1685 medical discharges were given yesterday, 715 of them were Covid-19 recovered patients.

There are 86 patientes in Intensive Care Unit: 23 under critical conditions and 63 seriously ill.
