1306 of the 8194 new positive identified cases of Covid 19 are from La Habana
Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, August 11th, stated that, 8194 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 491 904.
To date, 3757 deaths by coronavirus (73 belong to the day) have been reported, and 44 072(1309 - ) confirmed cases of which 43 588(98.9%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 9432(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 444 019(90.3%) medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 179 critical patients and 305 in critical status.
Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 1306(161- ) belong to the capital, all of them native. We regret 7 casualties by Coronavirus this Wednesday in the capital: Plaza de la Revolución( 2 deaths), Centro Habana, Diez de Octubre, La Lisa, Marianao and San Miguel del Padrón( 1 death each municipality).
Francisco Durán informed that, in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 thousands inhabitants has increased and for that reason the capital stands on the seventh position of the chart. That’s why he called the attention on the strict comply of the protection measures and social isolation because of the still high transmission which is spread in all its territories.
The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros(195), Arroyo Naranjo(170), Diez de Octubre(169), Habana del Este(1140), Playa(121),La Lisa(116), Marianao(96), Plaza de la Revolución(91),Cerro(71), San Miguel del Padrón(47),Centro Habana(37),Guanabacoa(22),Cotorro(11), Habana Vieja and Regla(39 each).
44 026 test were studied for Covid- 19, with a result of 8194 positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 7 018 227 analyzed samples of which 491 904(7%) were positive.
8131(99.23%) cases were contacts of confirmed cases for a total of 481 015(97.85) confirmed ones. 19(0.23%) of the cases have its source of infection abroad and 44(0.54%) of them have an unknown source of infection.
There were diagnosed 8175 native cases this Wednesday and 19 were imported of which 4958(53.2%) female and 3836(46.8%) male cases.
This Wednesday the amount of asymptomatic cases increased to a 4.7%, for a total of 111 008 which represents 22.6% of the confirmed cases to date. According to this indicator, he pointed out that the trend to the decrease evidences the severity of the clinic chart presented by the new strains, since symptoms appear from the beginning of the disease.
Of the 8194 confirmed cases, 1571 were under 20 years of age; 2415 between 20 and 39; 2656 between 40 and 59 and 1552, over 60.
The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in August 11th, 2021 is 0.76 % per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.11% for the world and the 2.57 % for the Americas region.
