Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, August 10th, stated that, 8605 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 483 710.

To date, 3684 deaths by coronavirus (76 belong to the day) have been reported, and 45 381 confirmed cases of which 44 897(98.9%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 9200(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 437 587 medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 175 critical patients and 311 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 1471 belong to the capital, 1467 of them native and 4 imported. We regret 7 casualties by Coronavirus this Tuesday in the capital: Diez de Octubre and Arroyo Naranjo (2 each municipality), Marianao, Plaza de la Revolución and San Miguel del Padrón (1 death each).

Francisco Durán informed that, in the last 15 days, the incidence rate per 100 thousands inhabitants has increased and for that reason the capital stands on the seventh position of the chart. For that reason he called the attention on the strict comply of the protection measures and social isolation because of the still high transmission which is spread in all its territories.

 The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros (195), Arroyo Naranjo (165), Habana del Este (135), La Lisa (134), Playa (133), Diez de Octubre (124), Centro Habana (119), Marianao (99), Cerro (91), Plaza de la Revolución (62), San Miguel del Padrón (55), Guanabacoa (50), Habana Vieja and Cotorro (39 each), and Regla, 30.

37 405 test were studied for Covid 19, with a result of 8605 positive samples whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 6 974 201 analyzed samples of which 483 710(6.9%) were positive.

8554(99.4%) cases were contacts of confirmed cases for a total of 8605 confirmed ones. 28 of the cases have its source of infection abroad and 23 of them have an unknown source of infection.

There were diagnosed 8577 native cases this Tuesday and 28 were imported of which 4597(53.4%) female and 4008(46.8%) male cases.

This Tuesday the amount of asymptomatic cases (8605) increased to a 4.9%, for a total of 110 623 which represents 22.9%% of the confirmed cases to date. According to this indicator, he pointed out that the trend to the decrease evidences the severity of the clinic chart presented by the new strains, since symptoms appear from the beginning of the disease.

Of the 8605confirmed cases, 1644 were under 20 years of age; 2430 between 20 and 39; 2801 between 40 and 59 and 1730, over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in August 10th, 2021 is 0.76 % per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.11% for the world and the 2.57 % for the Americas region.
