Epidemiological situation is still complicated in Cuba taking into account the uprising of new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the provinces. La Habana reported, at the end of yesterday, August 5th, more than 1500 cases, placing it among the provinces with a higher impact between cases diagnosed with the disease which in the island gets to a total of 8889.

D. Francisco Durán García, National Director of Epidemiology and Hygiene of the Public Health Ministry informed in a press conference, broadcasted on Radio and TV, that there were reported 74 Coronavirus-related deaths in 13 provinces in the country and there is a trend of pediatric and under 20 year of age cases’ increase.

To date, Cuba accumulates 6 778087 analyzed samples for Covid -19 for a total of 439 899 diagnosed people with the disease, since the beginning of the pandemic in Cuba on March, 2019.

All the provinces show high positivity levels which leads to an increase in the contagious. La Habana, Cienfuegos, Artemisa, Mayabeque, and Gramma stand over the national average of positivity, which is more than 20%.

La Habana reported 1534 native cases and 3 imported with higher levels in the municipalities of Boyeros, Diez de Octubre, Marianao, Arroyo Naranjo, Centro Habana, La Lisa and Playa.

10 of the 75 deceased patients today are from La Habana: Marianao (3), Diez de Octubre (2), La Lisa, Habana Vieja, Arroyo Naranjo, San Miguel del Padrón and Plaza de la Revolucion reported 1 deceased patient each municipality.

It was announced that due to the addittion of 46 079 new patients from yesterday, which remain admitted at hospitals , isolation centers, or at home and because of the increase in the contagious rate with the new strains as the Delta one, Attention protocols in some provinces in the country have been modified.
