The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, held a meeting with about a hundred young people from different sectors and professions at the historic University of Havana.

Teachers, university professors, students, art instructors, peasants, service workers, health workers, production workers, media workers, science and non -state sector workers shared their ideas and experiences this historic day with the country’s leadership.

In these difficult times of pandemic, imperial hostility, aggression, unrest… young people narrated their experiences, contributed with ideas, and raised concerns to achieve a better country and a better Cuba. Diaz Canel recognized young people’s role and referred to the need to articulate intersectoral work in a group of areas and to improve its impact in the communities.

“You, young people have had a tremendous role in the community, it is not a matter of intervening in these places but of channeling and helping to transform, based on the inhabitants proposals. In all of this, we must always respect the community interests”, said Diaz Canel.
