President Díaz-Canel condemns cyber-attacks on Cuban media

President Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez denounced the cyber-attacks on the media and official government channels as part of an unconventional war waged against the nation.

In a political-cultural event with more than 100 thousand people, held in the capital and presided by Amy General Raul Castro Ruz, the president Miguel Díaz –Canel Bermúdez denounced the attempts to attack the country and at the same time disarm it of its defense instruments.

Canel rejected the cyber-attacks on news portals such as that of the presidency, Gramma, Cubadebate, when even the day before, the official website of the Foreign Ministry, Cubaminrex, was out of service for a while due to an attack generated in the United States and other countries.

Practically all Cuban media suffer intermittent service denial attacks in the midst of a fierce campaign of demonization against the government by anti-Cuban sites.

The head of state also alluded to the false images and so-called fake news used to manipulate reality on the island, as part of what he called media bombardment.

On this day, more than 100 thousand people went to La Piragua esplanade in Havana’s Malecón to ratify today their support in defense of the Revolution and to reject the campaign that accompanies the destabilization attempts orchestrated from abroad against the Caribbean nation.
