Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, July 5, stated that, 3591(516+) new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 210 913.

To date, 1387 deaths by coronavirus (15 belong to the day) have been reported and a total of 2382(879- ) medical or epidemiological discharges in the day. There were 20 307 confirmed cases of which 20 125(99.1%) with a stable clinical evolution. An amount of 189 163(90%) people were medically and epidemiologically discharged from hospitals. There are 70 critical patients and 112 in critical status.

Of the amount of diagnosed patients, 591(106+), belong to the capital, of them 589(12+) are native and 2imported cases. The biggest amount of PCR tests done (23, 8%) belong to the capital with a positivity of 7.1% placing it at fortieth position of the chart.

Francisco Duran confirmed 4 deaths by coronavirus in the capital for a 28.1% in the incidence rate by 100 000 inhabitants showing a slightly increase of the cases in contrast with the progressive trend of decreasing cases that had been lately reported. Durán stated that it remains a high transmission rate and it is spread along all the municipalities. The biggest figure of active events, 51, of the 150 reported, are from the capital.

Most affected municipalities in La Habana were Arroyo Naranjo(87), Boyeros (71),Marianao(59), Diez de Octubre(56), Centro Habana and Playa(40 each), Habana Vieja(39), Guanabacoa(31), Cotorro and Cerro(30 each), Habana del Este(29),Plaza de la Revolución and San Miguel del Padrón(25 each),  Lisa(18) and Regla(11).

35 249 test were studied for Covid 19, with a result of 3 591 positive samples (516+). The country accumulates 200 980(95.3%) analyzed samples of which 210 913 (3.9%) were positive.

Of the amount of confirmed cases, 3431(95.5%) were contact of confirmed positive cases for a total of 200 980(95.3%). There were 81 imported cases (2.3%) for a total of 9 255(4.4%). There were 79 cases (2.2%) with unknown infection source.

There were 3 510 native cases confirmed this Monday of which 81 are imported. There were 1823(50.8%) female and 1768(49, 2%) male cases.

43 231 patients remain hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 13 990 suspicious, 8934 under medical watch and 20 125 (99.2%) with a clinical stable evolution. An amount of 189 163(90%) have been discharged from hospitals.

Of the 3 511 positives cases, 25, 4 % were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 91 444, which represents 43.3% of the confirmed cases to date.

Of the 3 591 confirmed cases, 630 were under 20 years of age; 1097 between 20 and 39; 1215 between 40 and 59 and 649 over 60.

The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in July 5, 2021 is 0.65% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.16% for the world and the 2.62 % for the Americas region.
