According to information from the Meteorological Institute’s Forecast Center, tropical storm Elsa continues to approach the eastern region of our country.

Within the next 12 to 24 hours, it will remain on a west northwest course, passing over the Stretch of Colón and will continue to gradually decrease its speed, with fluctuations in its intensity.

Due to its proximity, it was decided to establish the Alarm phase at 8:30 this morning for the provinces of Sancti Spíritus, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara y Matanzas; Alert phase for the provinces of Mayabeque and La Habana and Informative phase for Artemisa, Pinar del Rio and the Special Municipality of Isla de la Juventud.

It is advised to the population to keep updated through the media and the official profiles of social network as to maintain strict compliance with the indications given by the Prime Ministry of the Republic.
