Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, July 2, stated that, 3475 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 200 728.

To date, 1337 casualties have been reported (15 of them belongs to the day), 2446 medical discharges (belonging to the day), and 18 448 confirmed cases of which 18 248(98.9%) with a stable clinical evolution, 18 887 medical or epidemiological discharges. There are 72 critical patients and 128 in critical status.

Of the amount of patients diagnosed, 426, belong to the capital, of them 396 native and 30 from abroad. The biggest amount of PCR tests done (20, 5%) belong to the capital. During the day; 557 positive pediatric cases, 52 of them from the capital.  

Francisco Duran confirmed 2 casualties in the capital showing a decreasing progressive trend but, stated, it remains high transmission rate and it is spread along all the municipalities. Due to de the decreasing trend of cases, the capital stands at ninth position of the provinces in the country. The biggest figure of active events 53, of the 161 reported, are from the capital.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Diez de Octubre(65), Arroyo Naranjo y Marianao (39 each),Playa(37),Boyeros y Centro Havana(35 each),Lisa(32),Cerro(31),Plaza de la Revolucion (22),Cotorro(21), San Miguel del Padron(20),Habana Vieja(19),Habana del este(17)Guanabacoa(6), and Regla(4).

34849 test were studied for Covid 19, with a result of 3475 positive samples (176 +). Accumulating 2220135 analyzed samples of which 200728 (3.8%) were positive.

Of the amount of confirmed cases, 3289(94.6%) were contact of confirmed positive cases for a total of 191123(95.2%). There were 90 imported cases (2.6%) for a total of 8901(4.4%). There were 96 cases with unknown infection source.

There were 3385 native cases and 90 imported confirmed this Friday, of which, 1796(51.7%) female and 1679(48, 3%) male cases.

4492-72 patients remain hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 11513 suspicious, 15011 under medical watch and 18248 confirmed (98, 9%) with a clinical stable evolution. An amount of 180887(90.1%) have been discharged from hospitals.

Of the 3475 positives cases, 25, 5 % were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 88339, which represents 44.3% of the confirmed cases.

Of the 3475 confirmed cases, 673 were under 20 years of age; 1078 between 20 and 39; 1170 between 40 and 59 and 509 over 60 .The death rate for Covid 19 in Cuba, in July2, 2021 is 0.67% which is lower than the 2.1% for the world and the 2.6 % for the Americas region.
