Its first presentation took place on May 20, 1941 in the then Rector Cadenas Square, today Ignacio Agramonte Square. It was a collective that emerged in the university classrooms with the students of the Dramatic Arts Seminar integrated by young actors and actresses, at a time when the performing arts did not have any support in our country.  Its main purposes were to promote the social importance of theater and its influence on the ethical, cultural and political order, as well as its extension to the national level.

He was born on December 11, 1928 in Havana. He was one of the most outstanding filmmakers in the history of the seventh art in Cuba and Latin America. He felt a great love for cinema and placed great value on its proper use. He assured that cinema is not simply portraying reality. He added: "Cinema is manipulation. It gives you the possibility of manipulating different aspects of reality, creating new meanings and it is in that game that one learns what the world is. He died in Havana on April 16, 1996.

 

He died in Havana on March 30th, 1849 at the age of 84 years old. The scientist introduced the vaccine in our country. He is considered the precursor of the development of science in Cuba.  He was born in Havana on December 21st, 1764. It is the main boxing event held in Cuba with the participation of Cuban and foreign boxers. The event is named after Giraldo Cordova Cardin in honor of the young revolutionary boxing enthusiast who participated in the assault on the Moncada Barracks on July 26, 1953 in Santiago de Cuba.
