A Colonel in the Engineers Corps. He served in the Island’s political and military secretariat. He was a city-loving Havana denizen and contributed to its development with several works. He died in Havana on November 23, 1848.

Antonio María Romeu was born on September 11, 1876 in Jibacoa, Santa Cruz del Norte. He excelled as a musician, composer and conductor. He was nicknamed as the keyboard magician, for the virtuosity shown when he played the piano. He lived a long and fruitful life. His died in Havana on January 18, 1955.

He was born in Havana on October 18, 1834. In his professional career he worked as a legist, pediatrician and thinker. He was one of the main promoters of a code of conduct for physicians. He was among the members of the Royal Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural Sciences of Havana, where he was secretary and founding director of its Annals. He died in Havana on July 10, 1887.

He was born in Havana on May 22, 1918. His mother was Cuban and his father Spanish. From an early age he was linked to artistic manifestations. As a professional he was a pedagogue, actor, adaptor of literary and theatrical works, scriptwriter of dramatizations and adventure shows. He also worked as director of radio and television programs. He was the founder of Cuban Television. Died in Havana on January 8, 2007.
