Alberto Julio Rayneri Alonso is known in the artistic world as Alberto Alonso. He was born in Havana on May 22nd, 1917. He was a brilliant dancer and choreographer and one of the founders of the current National Ballet of Cuba. He was considered the first professional classical dancer in Cuba.  He gave significant thoughts to what is called today as the Cuban style of ballet.. This is a mixture of the classical Russian style, modern west techniques and traditional Cuban elements. He died in United States on December 31st, 2007.

He was born on September 14, 1928 in Havana. In his work as a photographer he was fully motivated. It was said about him that he turned out to be a man of his time, deeply devoted and with exceptional virtuosity. He contributed to reflect as a great chronicler the era in which he lived.  He was the creator of the photo of Che Guevara in which his face is reflected. He died suddenly on May 25, 2001 in France where he was to present an exhibition.

He is known as the elegant of the track, due to his style when running in national and international competitions He is one of the great figures of the Cuban sport. He was born in Santiago de Cuba on November 21st, 1950. He won two gold medals in 400 and 800 flat meters in the Olympic Games in Montreal, in 1976. He is the only Cuban athlete who has been a double champion in an Olympic Game. He was also successful at world, Pan-American and Central American championships. After his retirement as an athlete in 1985 he has had responsibilities in the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, INDER, as well as in the Cuban Athletics      Federation and has also been a member of the International Olympic Committee.
